Westgate Neighbour & Friend Day 2021
Bike Decorating Station
Our friends at Calgary Cycle (located in Westgate @ 4623 Bow Trail SW) donated an amazing assortment of decorations for kids to use to dress their bicycles up for the parade. There was everything from helium balloons to streamers and stickers.
Bike Parade
After a safety briefing from CPS Constable DeWitt our parade participants toured around the neighbourhood with a Calgary Police Escort leading the way. Long after the parade had ended, decorated bikes could be seen around Westgate.
Live Music
What a treat to be able to have live music again! Ben Rosé from Café Rosé who entertained the crowd with a variety of cover songs and many of his originals. He put on a fantastic performance and got lots of people up and dancing along.
Food Trucks
Helping keeping everyone fed were local Food Trucks, Panini Boy and Waffles & Chix.
Prizes
There were multiple ways to win at Westgate Neighbour & Friends Day. Upon arrival each family got a ticket for one of several door prizes. Attendees were also able to purchase a ticket to the 50/50 raffle. The winner, Ashley H., went home with her $145 winnings!
What a great way to spend a summer afternoon, celebrating our community. Looking forward to hosting more events as restrictions lift. If you have any suggestions on events you’d like to see at the Westgate Community Association, let us know.
Check back to see what we have planned for Halloween!
