Public Art Installation at 45th Street Station
In 2023 the 45th Street C-Train station located in Westgate on 45th Street & 17th Ave SW was selected as the new home for the Calgary Public Art piece named Transit Story. Created by artist Jill Anholt, TransitStory consists of 30 life-size sculptures of CTrain commuters amid the ebb and flow of their daily shuttles. Over the last several months the process to transport and install TransitStory was carried out, and the grand unveiling is almost here!
Join us on Monday, April 15th for an informal outdoor reception to celebrate the completion of the installation and welcome TransitStory to it’s new home in Westgate.
Grab & go coffee will be available at 45th Street CTrain station on the 15th from 7:30-9am.
Interested in learning more about TransitStory? Register to attend the free Evening Talk event, where artist Jill Anholt and Public Art Conservator Lisa Isley will discuss TransitStory and the role public art plays in communities.
