Westgate Community Skating Rinks

As of January 1st, 2026 flooding of the ice is on hold until further notice in compliance with the water restrictions in place for the City of Calgary.
For the duration of the 2025-2026 Winter season, the Westgate Community Association is home to two outdoor ice rinks! Our dedicated Rink Crew volunteers have been busy flooding the ice and maintaining it for the enjoyment of our community. Both the Hockey rink and the pleasure rink have lighting on until 9pm and are open for public. Proper equipment, including helmets, is recommended.
What to know about Westgate’s two rinks:
Hockey Rink – located on the west side of the hall
- Classic hockey rink with full boards and moveable nets
- Rink lights on until 9pm
- Rubber mats on hall side of the rink
- Benches near hall side entrance of rink
- Shovel available by the rink for quick snow clears
- Great for shinny, practice or a free skate
- After winter the rink transitions into our Pickleball courts.
Pleasure Rink – located on the east side of the hall
- Perfect for young kids, families and beginners looking for a casual skate
- Open ice, no boards here
- Benches to sit down and lace up
- Firepit* nearby to warm up – special thanks to the City of Calgary for providing one for the 2025-2026 seasson!
